CASSINI Matchmaking programme is boosting space-related businesses in EuropeThe CASSINI Matchmaking programme is kickstarting new business opportunities for space-related markets in Europe, with tailored matchmaking events for companies to expand their professional networks and find new partners, customers, and investors. The programme offers different tailored matchmaking opportunities to boost entrepreneurship, corporate innovation and investments in space-related businesses across the EU.
As partners in Deeptech Alliance, THINGS is managing the CASSINI Matchmaking initiative on behalf of the European Commission in a consortium led by German-based AZO. During the initiative, we setup a series of tailored matchmaking events for EU based companies with the purpose to kickstart new business opportunities for space-related markets in Europe, expanding their professional networks to find new partners, customers, and investors.
Companies benefit from getting connected to key industry players and investors. Participating corporate and institutional organisations are presented with preselected startups, scaleups and SMEs that can help innovate and achieve development goals. A selection of space-related, high-performing startups are brought in contact with investors interested in cutting edge technology. To make sure that companies are prepared to pitch to investors, the CASSINI Matchmaking team will deliver trainings and educational sessions.
CASSINI Matchmaking programme is a two-year programme consisting of physical and online matchmaking events with a broad geographical spread.
To guarantee the greatest effect and get the best results, each batch will be focused on four specific topics, meaning companies and their corporate and investor matches will be connected through several industry fields, covering different business areas and addressing different value chains.
Our matchmaking events in 2022 focused on these topics:
- Infrastructure lifecycle support – Companies specialising in space services supporting infrastructure such as wind turbines, train tracks, buildings or pipelines.
- Defending & Securing from (and in) Space – Businesses involved in critical assets for defence and security operations like positioning and navigation or internet communication via satellite.
- Consumers day-to-day lives – Solutions using satellite data to monitor human health, developing education tools or innovative gaming applications in the topic ‘Space for human well-being, education, and entertainment’.
- Improving access to Space – Hardware and software solutions to support launch systems and facilitate the delivery of spacecraft in orbit.
During 2023, CASSINI Matchmaking is focusing on the following areas:
- Smart Logistics & Transportation – Industrial transport & logistics activities using multi dimension solutions (drone, vessels, etc.).
- Smart Cities & Urban Mobility – Solutions to support sustainable urbanization, the development of smart buildings, and urban mobility.
- Managing and protecting Earth’s resources from Space – Support land and marine environment monitoring for sustainable exploitation of natural resources.
- Next-gen spacecraft manufacturing & operation – Hardware and software solutions to support the development of spacecraft systems.
